A passionate local stallholder at the Whanganui River Markets, has created Local Markets NZ — a unique initiative designed to connect stallholders with essential resources, support, and networks.
Local Markets NZ is more than just an online platform; it's a lively community hub focused on strengthening local markets, empowering market vendors, fostering connections with market managers to build shared knowledge and support.
Ashley is committed in bringing her impactful vision to life, taking shape with the help of a dedicated team of advisors and software engineers.
With 3 children, Mārama, a stay-at-home mum, has been appointed the role of research and development for Local Markets NZ.
Introducing Niki Evans, terrarium builder & active marketeer in the Lower North Island.
Niki saw a need for marketeers to have a place to support each other outside of markets to build a community with shared ideas and values, a network for event organisers and vendors alike.
The Facebook group Lower North Island Marketeers was born and with the support of the community has become a valuable source of knowledge and support. See Facebook link below.
Julie Fawcett was instrumental in establishing Port Chalmers Cruise Ship Market (PCCSM) in November of 2015.
With a vision of providing a unique shopping experience for cruise ship passengers and local shoppers, giving them an opportunity to purchase high quality NZ made products made by passionate locals.
Operating in the historic town hall, Julie leads a team of talented stallholders who showcase their products at around 45 Markets a year, greeting around 43,000 passengers during the 2023/2024 cruise ship season.
Winning the ‘West Harbour Community Board’ award in 2019, PCCSM enters its 10th year as one of the top 10 tourist attractions in Dunedin, and the best cruise ship markets on the NZ cruise ship circuit.
With a database of around 160 stallholders, Julie works with collaborative partners in Dunedin, hosting regular markets and events such as the annual Christmas Artisian Market at the Edgar Center in late November.
